Influenza Vaccines
The following viruses are recommended by WHO to use for influenza vaccine production, for the northern hemisphere.

| Dosage | 1) Children from 6 - 36 months: Two doses (0.25ml) (2nd dose should be given after an interval of at least 4 – 6 weeks) ** (Only one dose is required if the children have been vaccinated in past years) 2) Children from over 3 to 9 years of age; Two doses (0.5ml) (2nd dose should be given after an interval of at least 4 – 6 weeks) ** (Only one dose is required if the children have been vaccinated in past years) 3) Children from 9 years of age or above and Adults: One dose (0.5ml) |
| Possible Reaction After Infection | 1) Some participants may have local reactions like swelling, redness and pain. 2) Drink enough water, keep warm, have sufficient rest and sleep, have a regular exercise and eat a balanced diet |

Who Should NOT Be Vaccinated?
ý People who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs.
ý People who have had a severe reaction to an influenza vaccination.
ý People who developed Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) within 6 weeks of getting an influenza vaccine.
ý Children less than 6 months of age (influenza vaccine is not approved for this age group), and
ý People who have a moderate-to-severe illness with a fever (they should wait until they recover to get vaccinated.)
ý Currently taking any medication for: asthma or bronchitis; blood thinning and/ or to treat seizures or fits
ý Allergy to antibiotics like neomycin, polymyxin or gentamicin
